In my fine artwork, I focus on the dynamics of accumulation and loss. The pendulum swing between additive and subtractive informs both the conceptual narrative of my work and the technical process. My most recent work, the Dots, is the story of that dialogue. These works are intuitively worked so that each finished piece is a record of its making. Multiple layers of plaster are applied and sanded, allowing the works to take on a life of their own. The surface is polished until the viewer is presented with a superficially inviting surface shielding the turbulent interior. What results is a disparity of visual and actual texture, the microcosm of a life, presented with maximum care and shine.
